this is what our home looks like during Christmas. is it pretty silly that i get giddy every time i look at my tree? no, not just my tree, but any Christmas tree! Christmas trees are always my favorite thing to set up during the holiday season.
growing up, my family’s Christmas tree was always my favorite tree. as a family, we set up all of our Christmas holiday decorations together, and that included hanging the dozens and dozens of Christmas ornaments on the tree. i can’t even begin to tell you what type of ornaments there were because they are all just so random. hey have instrument ornaments, different santa clause ornaments, baby’s first Christmas ornaments, handmade ornaments, blocks, stars, bells, fish, etc… whenever my parents travel, they come home with a new ornament or two. once all of the ornaments have been hung, you can hardly see the tree because there are so many. it’s incredible, and incredibly beautiful.
that tree has now taken second place in my list of favorite Christmas trees, only because i now have Christmas tree that belongs to my little family. the ornaments on our tree include ornaments that were given to us when we got married (we were married a few days before Christmas), decorations from our wedding reception (a few pearl letter”B” pieces) , and ornaments my mom helped me pick out last year. our tree is covered in beautiful reds, golds, whites, and silvers. there are also large red and gold bows hanging on branches (those might be my favorite). i hope my children will come to love our Christmas tree as much as i do, and most importantly, i hope my children will understand what the Christmas tree represents.
do you have a favorite Christmas decoration? a nativity set? an advent calendar? a Christmas wreath?
p.s. we love vanilla hot chocolate! have you ever tried it?
