  • i love the process of creating art in any form. i play the violin, the piano, and i sing and teach voice lessons. i majored in music, dance, theater at brigham young university, and am only 5 classes away from receiving my bfa!

i'm a wife and mother, a friday night movie junky, and a lover of mornings. i have stacks of books by the bed, in my purse, and in the kitchen. I have an infatuation with frozen chocolate, and wear pearls with everything...including pajamas. oh yes, and i'm in love with photography.

our family pictures!

my awesome sister snapped some pictures of our family this morning! i’m so happy with them…we’ve been trying to do family pictures for forever, and even though i am hugely pregnant in these photos, i’m glad we did them! i’ll be posting more, so stay tuned!

to see more, you can head on over to aly’s blog. she did such a great job, especially considering the almost two-year-old who did not want to get her picture taken.

i didn’t realize how huge my stomach was. for the last few weeks, i kept thinking, “wow, my stomach has kind of stayed the same size for a long time!” looking at these pictures, i don’t know where i got that idea. i’m huge and still have two months left! everywhere i go, people keep saying things like, “any day now!” “you’re having twins, how fun!” or “no way! you still have two months left? you poor thing.” i received those comments on the last pregnancy too, so it isn’t anything that is too annoying.

p.s. isn’t my daughter so cute?! isn’t my husband so gorgeous?!

p.p.s. pregnancy update: i have had to stay off of my feet for a couple of days last week and this week. i keep having contractions, painful ones in my lower back, so when they happen pretty often, i kick my feet up, pick up a book, and drink tall glasses of cold water. i. i have lots of things to get done. anyway, this pregnancy has been a little bit harder on my body than the last one, so, we’ll see how things go.

chasing clouds

we didn’t actually chase these clouds yesterday; they found us! but i find myself noticing the beautiful clouds in the sky each day, and thought that maybe it would be nice to try chasing them and capturing them.

we’ve started playing again…e. had been sick and then i was ordered off of my feet for a couple of days, but all is well! we played over the holiday weekend, and are now getting back to our summer fun.

hope you are enjoying your summer!

4th of july

hope you had a nice 4th of july weekend! we had so much fun, a little too much actually. we took ella to her first parade (pictures below), went to a birthday dinner, made homemade raspberry ice cream, went t to a little neighborhood shindig, and watched part of a movie.

what did you do?

ella mostly just chilled in daddy’s lap…i think she may be a little too cool for parades.

welcome, little one.

i have been holed up in our apartment with a very sick ella. not fun, not fun at all. today, however, i was able to go and meet my best friend’s new little addition…baby norah. welcome to the world little one!

note: i loved being at the hospital and taking these pictures; it was so sweet, fun, and emotional. i hope to have pictures like these of my little family.

my sister also came and took some incredible pictures! to see more photos of this beautiful baby, head on over to her blog!

jessie (mother of baby norah) is an awesome photographer, check out her work!
