pretty interiors, light, and churros.

i snapped these quickly during one of the bridal sessions last week. i’d love to spend more time and really really photograph this cabin…it was so gorgeous, so gorgeous that i find myself thinking about it at night, wishing somehow that someday i could own a cabin just like it.

i think i like light stuff. light rooms, light fabrics, light furniture, etc… it makes me feel, well, light.

side note that has nothing to do with anything: i also can’t stop thinking about churros. any ideas on how I can eat an awesome churro (or three awesome churros) without having to fly to disneyland or make them myself?

the kelly moore bag

oh my goodness….these beautiful new camera bags from photographer kelly moore are making me drool all over my key board. her grand opening is going on right now, so if you want to see more of these bags, and i know you do, head on over to her website for more info and more eye candy!

on the road, no enemies, and sick of “stuff” on blogs.

i snapped this while we were in the car heading to st. george last week. i seriously couldn’t believe the colors were that gorgeous, and i’m sad to admit that i couldn’t capture them as i had wanted. probably could have if we had stopped the car and gotten out, but we were trying to get there before it to too late. anyway, still really happy with this image.

being on the road (for only about 3 and half hours but that still counts right?) reminded me of somethings i’ve been thinking about lately regarding blogs. now, i’m about to gain some enemies here, but please keep in mind that this is just my opinion, and i’m not trying to attack anyone.

for awhile now, i have noticed that a lot of blog content revolves around stuff, or items and objects that you can own. items that “make me happy,” or “are on my list,” or “i am loving,” etc… first off, i’d like to say that i am totally 100% guilty of this, maybe not so much on this blog, but definitely on my personal blog. i do not think that all of this “stuff” is bad, but i think there are so many other uplifting  topics, discussions, that can be focused on as well.

i can’t count the number of times i have gone to a blog and scrolled down the page only to find it looking and reading like a catalog. my first thought is usually something like, “wow, that is so gorgeous, i want one too!” my next thought, “but wait, i can’t afford that. could anyone really afford that?” my heart sinks a little bit when i realize it is going to be a really really long time before i could ever afford something like that (that something could be  a dress, a piece of jewelry, a bag, a house, etc…).

after those thoughts have sped through my mind and those feelings have taken over my body for a minute, my favorite thought gently tickles me,”you don’t need things to make you happy, brittany.” i am so happy to say that the last few years (the years my husband and i have been a poor newlywed couple) have been the best and happiest years of my life.

i do not need all of the stuff to make me happy. unfortunately, that is something that i need to remind myself of sometimes.

i hope that my blog is a refreshing place for all of you; a place that isn’t always focusing on the stuff that “makes us happy,” but rather a place that focuses on finding and creating happiness in our lives now.

what do you guys think about the blogs you are viewing each day? do you know of any blogs that do not focus on the “stuff” and are uplifting daily reads?

is there anyone that totally disagrees with me? (i’m really okay with that).

Utah Photographer - On the Road

wedding pics, poetry, destroying balloons, and awesome monday nights.

i’m a little giddy as i look through all of my images from this wedding. i was also lucky enough to be sent home with one of those center pieces; it’s sitting on my kitchen table right now!

i just asked my little bro what i should add to this post, and he suggested poetry…but i don’t want to put you guys through that. instead, i’m gonna fill you in on what is going on at our place right now. (because that is so much better than my poetry…)

elle went to bed at 6:30pm. lotr (fellowship) is on. brandon and my brother mckay are playing an “addicting game” that has something to do with destroying balloons before they go all the way down the road. i am blogging. we are all chatting and laughing.

i love mondays.
