I love photography!

I took a really great photography class from Nicole Hill, and was asked to put a before picture (picture I took before her class) and an after picture (pictures I’m taking now, after I took the class) up on my blog. I actually could not find a before picture, but the photo up top was a photo I took during the class…I thought that could still work.

Ella’s Blessing Dress

These photos were taken awhile ago, but I noticed that I hadn’t put them up on my photo blog…anyway, my sister and i took pictures of Ella (my daughter) in her blessing dress. These are my favorite photographs to date. We even have a few that are waiting to be hung on the wall above her crib. (I’ll post pictures of that when it happens!)

nectarines

Fruit this pretty makes it almost laughably easy to stop craving all of those sugary treats…almost.

A perfect day.

On her blog, Nina asked if we had ever thought about what a perfect day would be like…so I thought I’d share with you what my perfect day would be.

Wake up early, not too early, but early enough to enjoy the morning. Exercise, do some yoga, eat breakfast (omelets or french toast with berries…o.j and milk) with Brandon, and feed my Ella.
The house is already spotless (plus some beautiful blossoms are by the window and on the kitchen table), so household chores aren’t needed.
Get ready for the day, by packing a lunch of fruit, sandwiches, and water bottles. Hike (Bridal Vale Falls) and have a picnic!
After, we head to a pool or to the lake, and take a dip! Ella falls asleep on her towel, under a large umbrella. Brandon and I read, listen to music, and suck on ice cold popsicles.
It gets bit colder, we pack up and go home.
At home, we eat dinner (grilled chicken, corn on the cob, salad, blueberry muffins, and cold water), feed Elle her dinner, and then put her to bed.
Brandon and I cuddle and watch a movie while eating homemade kettle corn and frozen junior mints.

This day sounds so delicious, I want to make it happen!

What does your perfect day look like?

Last September…

When Ella was first born, we had a point and shoot camera that we just left out so we could snap a quick photo when we wanted to.
This photo was taken before she was even two weeks old! I thought for sure she’d keep that dark olive skin (she is, after all 1/8 Native American), but she’s all peaches and cream now!
